Things to do
The Isle of Wight offers so much to someone looking for a relaxing break or fun packed holiday. The Island has over 500 miles of footpaths and bridleways for people to explore and there are countless beaches and over 66 visitor attractions. Some of these include the theme parks of Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill and the Needles Park where you will find the coloured sands of Alum Bay and Alum Bay Glass. There is also Osborne House, where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert made their home and Carisbrooke Castle, where King Charles I was held during the English Civil War.
For the more adventurous, the Island can offer the people the chance to go paragliding, windsurfing, surfing, walking, cycling and sailing. There are also golf courses at Ventnor, Sandown and Shanklin, Osborne, Freshwater and Ryde. Stables also allow access to some fantastic treks over open downland or through picturesque country lanes.
